Eric is the Democratic candidate running to represent the 51st Senate District in New York which includes Delaware, Sullivan, Schoharie, Otsego, and parts of Chenango, Broome and Ulster counties. Born and raised in Walton, NY, Eric is a former CSEA Union member who worked as a Direct Care Aide, providing care to people with developmental disabilities. He led a community forum and hearing which informed the community’s reform plan submitted to the state.  Eric also led the way on public engagement regarding the cannabis opt in/opt out decision, developing a survey for village residents which resulted in a unanimous motion from the Walton Trustees to opt in to cannabis sales and on site consumption, positions that were supported by the majority of residents.

Eric lives in Walton and is a devoted uncle to his 3 nephews, two of whom were born overseas while his brother was deployed with the United States Airforce. Eric enjoys taking them fishing, 4-wheeling, hiking and exploring. He is the second in his family to graduate from college, is an avid outdoorsman, and plays percussion with bands, orchestras and touring groups.

Eric will be a strong leader focused on listening to his constituents and improving the lives of everyone in the 51st District. He understands the issues facing this rural district and will work to make sure we get the resources and investments that we need and deserve.
